Light Vessels

The Barcelona-based Raquel Cohen, presents an installation of light sculptures titled Light Vessels. Fruit of more than two decades dedicated to the search for ways in which to wed form and light, these biomorphic forms, fabricated from copper, light and mixed media, remind us of seed pods, plants or organic labyrinths. For the artist, “Light is the matrix of our existence. From shell to star, from cell to cosmos, it reveals the patterns of life force and symbolizes all that is transcendent. The sculptures shown here, inspired by the natural world and universal symbols, express a sense of wonder for the ineffable.”
