Flor Garduño studied at the Academy of San Carlos and for several years was assistant to master photographer Manuel Alvarez Bravo. She soon found her own view, however, when she made several trips in the eighties to remote areas of Spanish America to photograph the lives and rituals of the natives. “Witnesses of Time”, a photographic book, the result of these trips, was published in six editions and was an international hit with expositions in over forty museums around the world, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Center for Creative Photography of Tucson and numerous international cities.
Flor Garduño’s photographs are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the JP Getty Center, Los Angeles and the Stiftung für Fotographie in Zurich. Her published books include “Magic of the Eternal Game”, “Bestiarium”, “Mesteños”, “Flor Garduno: Inner Light – Nude and Still Life”. She has won numerous international awards and international exhibits in Europe and the Americas.
