Eduardo Rincón García, born in Santander (Cantabria) on October 25, 1924 and currently resident in Torroella de Montgrí, Girona.
Primary studies. His secondary education was interrupted at the outbreak of civil war and, having been imprisoned for political reasons, could not be completed after the war. At the age of fifteen he made some studies and began his contact with music in the Provincial Prison of Santander under the guidance of maestro Galdona. Lacking the financial means to pursue his formal education after his release, he continued his studies as a self-taught musician.
He received some harmony classes from Don Cándido Alegría, composer and organist of the Cathedral of Santander. In 1960, and during his exile in Paris, he received advice on counterpoint and orchestration from the French composer Jean Wiener.
He worked as an electrician until the age of 35; Following his second imprisonment in the Penal de Burgos (sentenced to fifteen years, served five), he worked as a translator of French and publishing technician from 1968 to 1985 in the publishing houses Altea, Taurus and Alfaguara. On Radio Nacional de España (la 2) he produced eleven programs on the German composer Hans Werner Henze. In the magazine Scherzo he has published music critiques, studies and interviews with Joaquim Homs, Xavier Benguerel and Xavier Montsalvatge.
He has written fifty studies and musical biographies in CD books. Since 1992 he has been a music critic for the International Music Festival of Torroella de Montgrí .
